Friday, June 17, 2005 Totalitarian TSA Says You Don't Have Constitutional Rights Where They Are Concerned Story dated 01 June 2005 A 57-year-old grandmother, and a middle school principal accidentally left a butter knife in her luggage. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, a butter knife. So what? Well, this is how a thinking person might react. Not so the non-thinking myrmidons that populate the TSA. "Screeners with the Transportation Security Administration at Los Angeles International Airport found [the butter knife] deep in the outside pocket of a carry-on cooler. The grandmother apologized and told them it was a mistake. 'You've committed a felony,' . . . [an unnamed] security screener announced. 'And you're considered a terrorist.' . . . She says screeners refused to give her paperwork or documentation of her violation, documentation of the pending fine, or a copy of the photograph of the knife. 'They said 'no' and they said it's a national security issue. And I said what about my constitutional rights? And they said 'not at this point ... you don't have any'. KOMO News did reach a spokesperson with the Transportation Security Administration for comment. They said they did not have record of [the grandmother's] confrontation but did admit that TSA screeners are, by design, becoming more strict." There you have it, the TSA thugs are becoming more strict. Let me tell you that this agency is, as of now, engaged in criminal actions. The people responsible for this action need to be arrested and tried for treason against the Constitution of these United States. No organ of the federal government has the lawful power to deny someone their Constitutional rights. This statement by the TSA goons is unconscionable. This needs to be stopped. I, for one, am not willing to submit myself to one group of thugs simply because they claim to want to protect me from another group of thugs. This is not right, and we need to start writing Congress and let our displeasure be known.
