Smallest extrasolar planet yet detected and the first of a new class of rocky terrestrial planets Story dated 13 June 2005
"Astronomers announced today the discovery of the smallest planet so far found outside of our solar system. About seven-and-a-half times as massive as Earth, and about twice as wide, this new extrasolar planet may be the first rocky world ever found orbiting a star similar to our own."
This is very cool. Maybe we day we will find a world that is suitable for us to live on as-is. And hopefully that day will be soon, because I have a feeling that those of us who love freedom will soon need a place to go to escape tyranny. Now all we need is convenient interstellar travel technology. Bottom line, the movement on this world seems to be toward tyranny -- government wants to insert itself more and more into our lives. We need a new world to escape to, as our ancestors escaped to America. The trouble we are currently experiencing is because the tyranny of the Old World finally caught up with us.
