    TSA Staffed by Crooks

A security employee [Frank Ulerio, Jr] at John F. Kennedy International Airport was charged Thursday with stealing $80,000 in cash from a checked suitcase headed for Pakistan, the Queens district attorney's office said. . . Ulerio, a Queens resident, faces charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison . . . The owner of the money did not declare the cash but . . . said he was never asked if he had anything to declare and likely will not be charged with a crime.

Those of you who read my blog know my opinion of the TSA, so I will not beat that dead horse. I think their agent's actions speak for themselves. What disturbs me is the fact that the writer of the story felt a need to mention that the owner of the money will not be charged with a crime. Does this bother anyone? Why is the act of traveling with large amounts of your own money something that should be suspect as criminal activity? Why do We the People continue to tolerate the tyrants who pass laws that make ordinary Americans into criminals?

    Rumsfeld Trivia

This is completely random, given that there are topics of more substance for me to comment upon, but I found out something interesting. President Gerald Ford had a secretary of defense named Donald Rumsfeld. Am I the only one who didn't know this?

He is the 21st Secretary of Defense, and he is the oldest person to have held that position. He served under President Gerald Ford as the 13th Secretary of Defense from 1975 to 1977, making him also the youngest person to have held the job.

Google Throws Support Behind Imperialist China, Against Taiwan

    Story

Google now has an official position of disseminating false information. Google maps apparently now lists Taiwan as a province of China. Taiwan is not now, nor has it ever been, a subdivision or the totalitarian, imperialist, communist regime euphemistically named the People's Republic of China.

That Google would list Taiwan as a Province of China shows that they either never cracked a history book (or did and didn't understand what was written therein), or they are actively working with the tyrants of Beijing to subjugate the free people of Taiwan. Either way, that doesn't look good for Google. So what is it guys? Are you stupid, or evil? Your customers and shareholders really want to know.

I have talked about the legal status of Taiwan before and am too tired to do it again, so here's what I've said about the situation in the past:
---------People's Republic of China has accelerated the deployment of missiles against Taiwan to 120 a year
---------China v. Taiwan: History mocks territorial claims
---------More on China's Plans to Conquer Taiwan

Energy Prices Likely to Remain High

    Story

Alright. This is just plain annoying. We need alternative energy sources and we need them now. I propose that our federal government immediately cut off all aid to foreign nations and go through the bloated budget and cut all pork spending. Then, with all that money, invest in an alternative energy research endeavor that eclipses the Manhattan Project. At the very least, I would like to see a viable SEPS program within the next few years. Oil producers need to learn that if they want us to buy their product, they need to keep the price stable. SEPS would provide constant energy that always cost the same to produce. Such a situation is much easier to factor into a budget.

There is an amusing line in the article that I link to above: "How long before we return to normal [referring to gas prices]? It's hard to know, because we have not yet got an assessment"

Guess what, folks? We left what can be called "normal" more than a year ago. I don't think gas prices will ever return to normal. That's why we need look toward abandoning it as or primary source of fuel.

Our economy depends on energy. The instability of energy cost cannot be tolerated. We need new sources. I suggest SEPS, but I am open to other viable options.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
